Hello everyone,

What a week…here we go:

1.     Sturgeon is Gone

There were a great many people, up and down the entirety of the United Kingdom, who breathed a sigh of relief when it was announced on Wednesday that Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, would be resigning.

In her resignation speech, she said: “In my head and my heart, I know that time is now”.

There has been widespread speculation on why she chose now to resign, with a multitude of plausible reasons. There is increasing scrutiny into the nature of a loan of a significant sum of money by her husband to the SNP. Equally, support for independence in Scotland appears to be flagging.

However, in my opinion, it came down to one thing and one thing only – her failed push towards gender ideology. The fact that Mermaids, a charity being investigated by the Charity Commission for safeguarding concerns, stated they were “grateful” to Sturgeon for her time in office, speaks volumes.

In this regard, the last few months have been a car crash for Sturgeon.
