It is now well over 2 months since the seismic Supreme Court judgment, which ruled that the meaning of ‘sex’ under law is biological in nature.
However, it is becoming increasingly apparent that various public bodies are seeking to ignore or even disregard the judgment altogether, even if it means they are breaking the law.
Today, I can reveal, exclusively, one of the culprits - Kent County Council (KCC).
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a whistleblower who works for the Council.
I was told:
"As an employee of Kent County Council, I find the torrent of LGBTQ+ material forced upon us during pride month incredibly alienating. Gender ideology is a highly controversial but also highly contested topic, of which many of my colleagues and I do not subscribe to. The guidance presented to us is not only factually inaccurate, subjective, but also contravenes several updated legal positions such as the Supreme Court judgment, the Cass Review and Forstater ruling. It appears that local government have forgotten that there are nine protected characteristics and is clear that any freedom of speech and freedom of thought is not to be tolerated."
My whistleblower leaked a multitude of internal training documents and policies that, crucially, are still in force as of today’s date, in complete and utter disregard of the Supreme Court judgment.
Here are some of the most shocking things contained within the leaked materials:
Trans Awareness Course
I worked my way through the entirety of KCC’s only and current version of a ‘Trans Awareness Course’. It is available for staff to undertake on the Council’s intranet and staff continue to be encouraged to complete it.
One of the aims of the training is to help Council staff “understand the bigotry facing trans people”.
Alongside a cartoon picture of a baby, staff are told: “sex is what appears on the outside of a person…gender comes from the inside”. This, of course, is completely untrue. To suggest that sex is simply based on ‘the outside’, and therefore to disregard the chromosomal element, is to seek to pull the wool over eyes. It is pure propaganda.
I could not quite believe my eyes when I came across a slide reading: “There is no UK law saying men must use male toilets or women female ones”.
Paging: For Women Scotland.
The fact that KCC continue to teach staff that there is no such law, just a few months after such a law effectively came into being, is the definition of gaslighting.
They double down: “Nobody has the right to decide what makes a man a man, or a woman a woman…a trans person should be able to use the toilet that corresponds to their gender identity.”
Equally concerning is the narrative pushed on Council staff regarding puberty blockers: “For those who have supportive parents, this is a time when puberty blockers can be considered…It works by stalling the onset of puberty, so that the child doesn't have to go through the trauma of their body developing in a way that they don't identify with.”
To suggest that parents who do not allow their children to take puberty blockers are in some way unsupportive, is utterly abhorrent. To describe puberty – the most natural thing in the world – as “trauma” is beyond dangerous. How dare a taxpayer-funded Council push this cult-like rhetoric on staff.
The scaremongering continues: “Being a teen is traumatic; the body begins to develop secondary sexual characteristics (e.g. breasts and body hair). Trans teens can be disgusted and terrified by these changes.” Being a teenager is undoubtedly challenging, but to call it ‘traumatic’ is harmful hyperbole.
Staff are then warned that “out of desperation, some attempt suicide”. That parents’ biggest fears are preyed upon in this way, especially given that the government has debunked these dangerous myths around suicidality, is disgusting.
The results of the Cass Review and the subsequent banning of puberty blockers by the UK government are also sidestepped, with KCC cherry-picking an old Dutch study on puberty blockers and staff told: “None of the 55 individuals expressed any regret as adults about their transition, or the choice to delay puberty.” Make no bones about it, this is taxpayer-funded indoctrination.
The training is filled with the other usual ideological rhetoric. Staff are told that “if your birth certificate says male and you feel like a man” then you are “cisgender”. According to KCC, the way we “sit”, “walk” or “style our hair” are all expressions of our gender identity. This is beyond regressive.
Council staff are even treated to a history lesson: “In ancient European history, trans people were often revered as embodying a dual spirituality that gave them a perceived wisdom and insight. Many myths surround trans people, including that of Cupid who was supposedly intersex.”
To cap it all off, at the end of the training, staff are signposted to Mermaids. Remember, this is the same organisation that was investigated by the Charity Commission for significant safeguarding failures.
Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Questioning and Ace (LGBTQ+) Support Toolkit
If the above indoctrination…sorry, training…wasn’t enough, managers within KCC are provided with a Toolkit to support ‘LGBTQ+ staff’.
This is an extremely bizarre document.
It lists ‘LGBTQ+ Famous People’. Those who have made the list include…Munroe Bergdorf, Elliot Page, Juno Dawson, and Demi Lovato.
Why?
Managers are given PinkNews as a resource to turn to.
Randomly, managers are informed that “Gaydar is a dating app for gay and bi men”, as if that could hold any relevance in the day-to-day work of a Council.
A helpful Glossary provides staff with definitions of useful terms, such as “demisexual”, “genderless”, “neutrois” and “pansexual”.
And, if you needed any further evidence that KCC is run by ideologues, a passé Genderbread Person is provided.
Pronouns Video
I was also provided with a video instructing staff on pronouns.
Staff are told: “At KCC, we celebrate diversity and strive for inclusivity. One way we can do this is by respecting everyone’s pronouns”.
This is a commandment, not an option.
Scaremongering continues, with employees told that “misgendering someone can have a significant negative impact on their mental health and wellbeing”.
If employees dare to use the wrong pronoun, they are instructed to “apologise quickly and correct it”.
According to KCC, any use of sex-based terms is a sign of “unconscious bias”. For example, a manager saying “we’re looking forward to meeting the successful candidate as soon as he or she accepts the role” would be unacceptable. Utter madness.
The video ends with staff being asked/told in a passive-aggressive manner: “So, why not share your pronouns?”
Managing and Supporting Transgender Staff Policy
I have also read the policy that underlines everything that KCC do in this space.
Tellingly, where the policy references the Equality Act 2010, there is no reference to the protected characteristics of ‘sex’ or ‘belief’, revealing that KCC prioritise some staff over others.
Staff are told that, by adhering to the policy, they will “enhance organisation reputation” and “improve recruitment and retention”. Let’s see if that is the case once the public are made aware of what is going on behind closed doors.
Once again, in complete contradiction to the Supreme Court judgment, managers are told that, when a staff member identifies as ‘trans’, “it should be agreed at what point the employee will use the toilet or changing facilities applicable to their new gender”. This includes “the use of shower or changing facilities”.
And for those female employees with concerns? They are told that they “will be expected to treat the transgender employee with dignity and respect”.
Microaggressions
In an internal resource on microaggressions, staff are warned that “referring to someone using incorrect pronouns” falls under this umbrella.
As does using the term “ladies”, even if everyone present is female.
Bizarrely, even attempts to re-assure ‘trans’ staff is also a microaggression. For example, saying: “you can come out as trans, it’s safe” is also…a microaggression.
Cisgender Privilege
KCC staff are also signposted to an external resource listing “130 examples of cis privilege in all areas of life for you to reflect on and address”.
I read through each and every one of these patronising examples and I have to admit that they made me turn to the bottle.
Such ‘examples’ of the ‘privilege’ that us ‘white people’ hold include:
• “You won’t be questioned or interrogated about your genitals by others while at school.”
• “If you receive tips at your job, you are less likely to be stiffed on the basis of your gender identity or expression.”
• “Characters of your gender are less likely to be inserted into a plot simply to be sensationalized, exploited, or killed off (transgender people are cast in victim roles over 40% of the time).”
• “You are less likely to be profiled as a sex worker based on your gender expression.”
• “You are less likely to need life-saving surgeries that could cost you thousands upon thousands of dollars out of pocket and leave you financially vulnerable.”
There are no words.
The above also represents just one of the many ideologies being pushed on staff. For example, KCC have a core objective to “become a pro-actively anti-racist organisation”.
It appears that this madness within KCC is being promoted as much from the ground up, as from the top down. The ‘Rainbow Staff Group’ is actively encouraged to feed into policy and decision-making within the Council.
My whistleblower told me: “I can confirm that we have received no revised communications or policy changes in respect to the Supreme Court’s judgment in April.”
For a taxpayer-funded organisation to be shirking their duties in this way, particularly when they pertain to a ruling from the highest court in the land, is simply unethical.
And, if it’s happening in Kent, it is bound to be happening elsewhere too.
When is our government going to get a grip on this madness, once and for all? I’m not holding my breath.
Didn’t the Supreme Court simply clarify what the law already says about single-sex spaces rather create a law?
Those responsible in the council for this garbage seem to be living in a time warp, in a time some years ago when the hateful gender ideology was at its most dominant, absurd and its most damaging to the country. It is amazing that the people responsible for this filth seem to be deaf and blind to what has been going on in recent days. Those who have produced and disseminated this out of date and thoroughly discredited nonsense should be named and shamed. It is probably a matter of some half-wits at the council simply accepting and publishing material which Mermaids or the like produce for them. Shame on them all!
